Learn More About Our School

The school operates from 9:00am to 5:00pm. Please contact us for the timetable of extra-curricular activities.

At La Miranda, a Global Quality School, we follow the Catalan national curriculum during the Infant and Primary stages. We enrich this curriculum with our strong multilingual programme, with an emphasis on English, preparing our students for success in an increasingly globalised world.

From ages 11 to 16, all students follow the Middle Years Programme (MYP), which integrates the Catalan curriculum with IB approaches. The MYP develops academic, personal, and intercultural skills, providing a strong foundation for the final two years of secondary education.

From ages 16 to 18, students choose between:

  • IB Diploma Programme (IBDP): A challenging, bilingual curriculum that combines academic rigour with cultural breadth, preparing students for university and beyond.
  • Spanish Baccalaureate (Bachillerato): Tailored courses in Science and Technology, Humanities, and Social Sciences provide focused preparation for university studies and future careers.

In addition, students in MYP and above can pursue the American Dual Diploma® as an extracurricular option, in partnership with Academica International Studies (AIS). This fully online programme allows students to graduate with the American High School Diploma alongside either the Spanish Baccalaureate or IB Diploma — opening doors to universities in Spain and worldwide.

School lunches are provided daily, and are included in our school fees. Our on-campus kitchen offers menus tailored to each age group, including options for children with allergies or dietary restrictions. Please contact your child’s teacher or the Admissions Team for more details.

We celebrate cultural diversity and multilingualism, seeing it as central to academic success. The primary languages we teach at La Miranda are English, Spanish, and Catalan. French and Mandarin Chinese are offered as additional languages, while we introduce German and Russian in the Infant stage. From Infants through to Year 3, we have link teachers that use English as their main language for teaching. We follow a 'one teacher, one language' policy, ensuring that each teacher consistently communicates in their assigned language – English, Spanish, or Catalan – to promote clear language boundaries and deeper language acquisition.

Students from Infants through to the MYP will be immersed in weekly robotics sessions, grasping understanding of circuits, computational thinking and all through hands on practical learning experiences.

Our campus features state-of-the-art sports facilities. From Infants to Baccalaureate, children enjoy weekly swimming lessons in a semi-Olympic heated indoor pool. Infants also benefit from two dedicated motor skills rooms, specifically designed to support their developmental needs. All students have access to the gymnasium, indoor sports hall, and dance/gymnastics gym. Our outdoor spaces include football pitches, volleyball, and basketball courts. Secondary students also benefit from a dedicated Arts, Design, and Music building.

At La Miranda, we offer a Welcome Class programme for international students from Year One to Year Six; this is to support their integration into the school, both academically and socially. In Secondary, differentiated language instruction in English, Spanish, and Catalan ensures there's a smooth transition for learners of all linguistic abilities.

Our students are friendly and welcoming, used to learning alongside classmates from many different countries. This openness helps create an inclusive and supportive environment where everyone can thrive.

Our link teachers ensure that all students adapt well to their new learning environment and are very aware of the challenges new students coming from new countries face. All new students are paired with a buddy for the first weeks of school to facilitate a smooth social integration.

The first step is to arrange a visit to the school, then to complete an application form. For more details on the process, please visit the Admissions page.

You can arrange a campus tour by contacting our Head of Admissions through the enquiry form. They will gladly guide you around the school and answer any questions you may have.

All students wear a school uniform, unless exempt for their year group. Uniforms encourage equality, a sense of identity, and belonging, while also supporting discipline and personal responsibility.

For more details about our uniform, visit School Uniform Page.

La Miranda offers an annual Summer Camp with a natural immersion in English language, where children can develop new skills, enjoy dynamic activities, and learn collaboratively. As part of Inspired Schools, our summer programmes operate in multiple locations – providing diverse experiences that help children to grow and make memories.
