Interview
After receiving your application, we invite you and your child to attend an interview and assessment, designed to evaluate language proficiency and subject knowledge.
We review every application carefully, taking your child’s individual needs into account. You can expect a response from us within seven days. If your application is successful, we will offer your child a place at this stage.
Please note that a certain level of English fluency is needed to participate in classroom learning and for confident communication. For students whose first language is not English, we provide ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) support.

Receive an offer
Our Admissions Team will contact you with an offer and give you details of the documents you'll need to complete enrolment. These may include:
- Your child’s passport or birth certificate
- Most recent school report
Standardised test results from their current school (e.g., PAT, e-asTTle, or NCEA for senior students)

Once all required documents have been submitted, we can confirm your child’s enrolment at La Miranda.

Assessment Requirements by Year Group
For our youngest learners (Infants, Year One, and Year Two), we focus on understanding your child’s development and abilities through their previous school reports, rather than formal testing.
From Year 3 and Year 4, we introduce a structured academic interview and in-person assessment to better understand each child’s learning style and current capabilities. This means we can give them the right support from the start.
From Year 5 onwards, the CAT4 (Cognitive Abilities Test) is used as part of the assessment process. This internationally recognised tool helps evaluate learning potential across multiple domains.
