Leading La Miranda is a remarkable opportunity, as we embrace a rich 58-year history alongside a vibrant international community of families, students, and staff. This diversity not only enriches our academic environment but also enhances our regional, national, and international programmes. We proudly position ourselves as a Global Quality School, and this growing internationalism is a genuine and valuable asset to the community, adding considerable value to our educational offer.
One of La Miranda's unique features is its linguistic offering. We have three vehicular languages: Spanish (Castellano), Catalan (Català) and English, establishing a multilingual foundation across all levels. Students have the chance to begin learning additional languages early. By the end of Infants, up to 7 languages are introduced, including French, Mandarin Chinese, German, and Russian; an opportunity that sets us apart from many other schools. We are also at the forefront of integrating technology into education; we are recognised as an Apple Distinguished School, the only one in Barcelona and one of only 6 in Spain. Our commitment to the holistic development of each child is paramount, supported by daily interactions with 'link teachers' and access to a dedicated team of psychologists.
I believe in fostering strong, respectful relationships within our school community – students, staff, and parents alike. I enjoy being actively involved in all aspects of teaching and learning, and you will often find me at the school entrance, visiting classrooms, attending assemblies, and maintaining an open-door policy.
Respect for ourselves, each other, and our learning environment forms the foundation of our institution. I hold the view that individuals can only ‘become’ what they ‘see’. As role models, it is crucial for us to align our words and actions, and to hold ourselves accountable to this standard.
When you visit La Miranda, you will be struck by the school’s unique design, which offers spaces that cater to various learning styles. The vibrant mosaics throughout the school are emblematic of our identity: they are a tangible representation of the values that La Miranda instills in its students: beauty, diversity and dedication. These artistic creations greet our students daily, illustrating how the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. La Miranda represents a community that has been thoughtfully built over the years, much like the individual tiles of a mosaic.
Joining La Miranda means becoming part of this unique tapestry. We are excited to welcome you to our school community in the future.
With very best wishes,
